Coding from Beach: IOT, AI, and Python Workshop

Nearly 80 people came to our first Coding from Beach meetup of the year last Thursday. The theme this year is IOT + AI + Python - the building blocks for creating intelligent devices, robots and more. Everyone got an ESP32 microcontroller and a hands-on intro workshop from Chris Drake to get them started with programming in Python on the device.

There was a great turnout of beginners of all ages that are keen to learn to code and build with these tools. We’re fortunate to have a group of stellar Hub cadets who delivered the workshops and could provide hands-on assistance to smaller groups. These teenagers have been coding for years and have plenty of experience teaching classes at the Hub - it was very impressive to see them in action and we’re excited about offering an ongoing coding skills program.
